On Party Planning

It’s exactly 1 month and 1 week until my little boy turns one and I haven’t done much with the preparation *sad. I lurked and joined discussions on party preparations in Smart Parenting,Female Network,Kiddie Party hoping to learn and get some useful ideas. I learned a lot and already had many plans on my mind but still haven’t done anything about it.

I don’t want to cram and spent at lot, that’s why I really need to start planning and do things now. I better write down what I’m able to accomplished so as to keep track and make sure that I don’t miss a thing.

My Checklist /Guide for Jed’s 1st Birthday

– Venue and Theme

– Invitation

– Food

– Venue dress-up

– Entertainment

– Loot Bags

– Other Misc. Stuff

I’m excited and at the same time a little bit worried since the last party that I host was 6 years ago (when Sam turned 1). Hoping that everything will turned out fine and I can manage to throw a memorable party for Jed in the most budgeted way :D.

Earthquake hit NZ

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit the city of Christchurch New Zealand just hours ago :(.

According to yahoo news, a death toll of 65 ( and is still expected to rise ) is now recorded. Another tragedy that’s really bothering.

Last year when hubby and I dream of migrating, New Zealand is number 1 in our list. With its scenic landscape and wide diversity of tundra and fauna, NZ is arising to be a top choice for migration. It’s sad to know, that another catastrophe hit them resulting to great loss and infrastructure damages.

NZ is just hit by a 7 magnitude quake September 4 of last year damaging hundreds of thousands of homes but miraculously zero death. The country always experience tremors and land shakes due to its location in the  Pacific Ring of Fire in which Philippines is also part of.

Now is the time for us to show our sympathy by praying that they can easily recuperate from the big loss and hope that no fellow Filipino is affected by this tragic event.

May God Bless us all!

Today I officially launch my Food Blog (http://momatworkkitchenwonders.blogspot.com/) 😀

Mum @ work's Kitchen Wonders

Since I’m into cooking and baking this year ( as one of my resolutions), I want to account my kitchen adventures. I might be very busy between work, taking care of the kids and hubby, household chores but still I always try to squeeze-in cooking good food ( with the best of my ability :D) for my loved ones. This is my one of my stress buster.

I do hope that I can keep up with this two blogs of mine :D.

A Pulpy Challenge

I just drank a bottle of Minute Maid Pulpy.

They say it’s got ‘no preservatives added’. Aw, c’mon…It’s bottled juice. Is that even possible? So I thought maybe… I see the label myself, and voila, it is written there i.e. preservative natural. Hmmm… a nice substitute to a freshly squeeze orange juice straight from the fridge. You’ll be free from squeezing oranges and yet you can still feel and taste those real pulps.

I didn’t believe it the first time I heard it’s got no preservatives added.  So I read the ingredients (even the fine print) and everything checked out! It really has NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED!  That means it doesn’t have ingredients that may turn out to be allergens, or worse…carcinogens!  Whew! Now that’s healthy goodness that tastes so good, I… and the kids will surely enjoy every drop of it. For a busy mom like me, It’s a good thing that I can give my kids a healthy drink anytime they want. A definitely juice-on-the-go.

So okay, it’s got no preservatives added. That’s really good, right?  Not just because it doesn’t have those icky, harmful ingredients, but it also means… good and healthy not just for adults but for kids as well, like my daughter Sam. She can bring it as her baon anytime and I won’t be bother that she might overdrinked it. Another plus factor for me.

So far anyone who still has a hard time believing that Minute Maid has got no preservatives added – meaning it’s THAT natural, it’s almost like it’s plucked straight from the tree, it’s just as Mother Nature wanted your orange juice to be, it’s got nothing but the good stuff yes, none of those potentially toxic stuff that can harm your brain, kidneys, heart; cause tumors aargh- the list of preservatives’ bad effects just go on!!! Anyway, just to prove a point on just how good Minute Maid Pulpy is ’cause it’s got NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED, I’m going to add this to my grocery list and let the family enjoy the freshness, and naturalness taste of the Minute Maid Pulpy Orange and Mango. A glass a day can boost-up our health for the vitamin C added. A healthy way to start the year.

Feels good to know about the real pulpy deal, right? C’mon show me a smile on the comment box, and you might win yourself a Really Pulpy Deal! (That’s a chance to win a Minute Maid gift pack simply by commenting. Sweet! C’mon you just might be picked as the lucky ‘commentor’!)

Car Maintenance

Yesterday, we had a flat tire.Glad that it didn’t happened during our travel the night before, hubby just found out that it was flat when we are about to go to the market.

Having a car (ours was just a lend by the company where we work) was like having an additional kid in the house. You have to allot  some budget for it’s own expenses like it’s routine maintenance. These regular automotive maintenance  and point checks are necessary for the vehicle’s good performance  and longevity.

Some things that you need to know for car maintenance are oil change, brake job, wheels alignment, battery and so on. Doing this regularly will save you from bigger expenses and prevent car breakdown.

I guess that the flat tire is a reminder that Vanzie is in need of it’s regular maintenance. By the way, if your somewhere in the US, Houston to be exact, you can check Houston auto repair for a list of top rated shops and mechanics.

Happy and safe driving!
